"When my sister died of cancer last summer at the age of 37, I knew I wanted to do everything I could to be healthy. As a mom of 3 kids whose ages ranged from 2 to 13, as well as a nurse and college student, taking time for myself seemded selfish. I had also never actually taken any kind of fitness class, usually exercising at home or with my family.
Although I ate a healthy diet I still had weight to lose. I also had a back injury that occasionally bothered me still and sore knees once in a while. All of this I considered par for the course of getting older.
I asked my sister to come with me for a free class at LV Yoga in January because I was nervous, having heard that sometimes yoga studios could be less than friendly. Immediately I felt the warmth and compassion from the teachers I met that day and never once have I felt less than that from anyone at LV Yoga. Jacque, Randi and Sybel as well as the other teachers are friendly and passionate about yoga and helping eveyone obtain a meaningful practice.
I started in the Yoga for weightloss classes and the positive effects were almost immediate. Jacque is a kind, warm and compassionate teacher, always encouraging and open to questions. She's also down to earth and inspiring in her own practice. The classes are fun and you practice with other people who have the same goals of moving towards health. There is no competition. Everyone is there with the same mindset as you. Within the first month my knee pain was gone, my back was stronger and my mind more at peace. Yoga taught me a powerful lesson in body awareness which is key to becoming fit and healthy.
It is six month since I took that first class and I have lost 18 pounds, 3 inches off my waist and am stronger in both body and mind. I credit this all to my yoga practice and cannot imagine living life without yoga and the wonderful teachers at LV Yoga."
The program:
Take a 4 week sessions for $90.You will choose 2 Hot Yoga classes per week to attend. You may pick any class/ day/time that works with your schedule. You do not have to decide which class you'll attend ahead of time. Just pick 2 per week. If you miss one, then the following week you'll take 3. You must use up 8 classes within the month. You'll meet privately each month with Jacque, the studio owner at no additonal charge. We discuss your goals and needs in our initial meeting, then each month evaluate where you are and how you feel about your progress.Your month begins upon your registration and first meeting with Jacque.
Hot Yoga is very challenging. It will be hard work. But the payoff will be measured in the dress sizes that you lose. You will see your body changing. You'll lose weight and see quick results. This program is not suitable for everyone. If you have severe health issues, unmanaged high blood pressure or heart disease, we will refer you to another weight loss program.
What makes this program different from just taking Hot Yoga classes on your own? The ongoing support and one on one meetings you have with Linda White, nutrition and goal setting counselor.
